We are looking for both Construction Materials Engineering Technicians and Construction Materials Laboratory Technicians to join our Construction Services team in Atlanta, Georgia. What You Will Do:

As either a Construction Materials Engineering Technician or Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in testing, analyzing, and inspecting construction materials such as soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt. Working alongside experienced technicians and professionals, you'll ensure accurate and thorough reporting of test results, maintain equipment, and assist with calibrations. Your work will contribute to the success of our projects by ensuring the materials meet the required standards. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and train less experienced staff, coordinate multiple projects, and communicate effectively with management, contractors, and clients to ensure project success.



  • Testing and Reporting: Conduct and document tests on various construction materials with precision and attention to detail. Collaborate with experienced colleagues and work independently to ensure test results are logical, complete, and ready for review.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all laboratory and field equipment is well-maintained and properly calibrated. Your role will be vital in keeping operations running efficiently and ensuring the accuracy of our testing processes.
  • Team Coordination: Assign tasks to other staff members, perform preliminary reviews of their work, and help maintain consistency and quality in our testing operations.
  • Project Plan Reviews: Review construction material project plans, record observations and test results, and use Metafield to organize data.
  • Inspections and Compliance: Perform inspections of construction materials according to the International Building Code (IBC) and serve as a Special Inspection agent per certifications and IBC requirements.



Who You Are:



  • You have the following education/experience combo

    • High School diploma/GED
    • Associate Technician/Technician I: 0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
    • Technician II: 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials, or equivalent experience and an associate degree in a related field
    • Technician III: Minimum 3 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials, or equivalent experience and an associate degree in a related field
    • Technician IV: 5+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials. Oversight and/or mentoring experience of junior staff preferred

  • You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • You can proficiently complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device, using Microsoft Office and email
  • You have effective math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
  • You have industry certifications such as ACI, ICC, NICET or DOT, a plus



Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:



  • Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
