We are hiring for an Activities Coordinator to coordinate activities for Individuals being served within the Day Program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to flex schedule according to Day Program needs
  • May need to push into ratio at times
  • Must ensure safe van routes and Activity Schedules are followed
  • Helps plan and implement community interactive experiences and interest-based classes as specified in each client's individual support plan (ISP).
  • Completes documentation as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Complies with behavior support policies and procedures and implements approved behavior support programs.
  • Maintains certification in medication administration, CPR and First Aid.
  • Supports and leads the Day Program individuals and DSP's (Council) to develop the theme and activities for the month.
  • Ensures Activities Schedules are being followed, may include checks in the community to ensure things occurred as planned.
  • Develop curriculum as needed.
  • Manages the Transportation Van Routes to and from the Day Program
  • Reviews the vans monthly and reports to the Day Program Supervisor and maintenance needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to create and manage tasks performed by others
  • Effective communication skills with staff, management, individuals and other internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Driver's license valid in the State of New Jersey
  • Proof as a covered driver with auto insurance
  • Successfully clear prior to beginning employment:

a. Background Checks including Criminal History / Fingerprints

b. CARI (Child Abuse Record Information)

c. NJ Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. N.J.A.C. 10:44D.

d. Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Physical, and Tuberculosis Screening
