Fixed Income & Liquidity Solutions Overview Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions, within Public Investing, manages more than $1.7 trillion* in assets for a variety of clients, including private wealth mandates and institutional clients such as insurance companies, pension funds, and endowments. The team has a long history of investing across public fixed income strategies including rates, currency and credit on behalf of our clients. Investment ideas are created through collaboration between portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders. Role Overview Goldman Sachs Asset Management's Fixed Income Solutions team is a leading provider of customized separately managed accounts (SMAs), managing over $190 billion in global assets across 48,000+ accounts. The Fixed Income Solutions team delivers bespoke investment solutions for a variety of clients, including high net worth, institutional and retail investors. As a Vice President on our Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) team within Fixed Income Solutions, you will be a key driver of client engagement, marketing, and product development for our custom fixed income SMA strategies. Collaborating with portfolio managers, traders, salespeople, and financial advisors, you will lead the creation of tailored taxable and tax-exempt solutions, deliver insightful market perspectives, develop impactful marketing content, and ensure exceptional client service. Responsibilities:
- Subject Matter Expertise & Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on GSAM's Fixed Income Solutions investment strategies, portfolio construction methodologies, and performance attribution. Mentor junior team members and act as a go-to resource for our SMA offerings, demonstrating a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends.
- Client Communication & Relationship Management: Act as a senior point of contact for sales teams, financial advisors, and retail clients, proactively addressing inquiries related to portfolio positioning, performance, market outlook, and product platform. Cultivate strong relationships with key clients and provide tailored investment solutions.
- Marketing & Content Strategy: Lead the development and execution of compelling marketing materials, including pitchbooks, presentations, commentaries, and website content. Drive the creation of thematic content that highlights our investment expertise and differentiates our SMA strategies.
- Sales Leadership & Client Acquisition: Partner with senior sales leaders to present our SMA strategies to prospective clients, effectively articulating our investment philosophy, process, and performance track record. Lead client meetings, conference calls, and due diligence sessions.
- Market Intelligence & Investment Strategy: Continuously monitor and analyze fixed income markets, economic indicators, and competitor strategies to identify opportunities and inform portfolio positioning. Contribute to the development of investment insights and market commentary and provide input on investment strategy.
- Portfolio Review & Performance Analysis: Oversee the preparation and delivery of timely and accurate client-specific portfolio reviews and performance reports, ensuring clear and concise communication of key investment themes and results. Analyze portfolio performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with portfolio managers, strategists, and engineers on various team-related strategic projects, including product development, platform enhancements, and process optimization. Lead strategic initiatives to enhance the growth and efficiency of the SMA platform.
- Education & Training: Educate internal and external audiences on our focused SMA products, providing training and support to enhance their understanding of our investment strategies. Develop and deliver training programs for junior team members.
- Relationship Management & Business Development: Develop and maintain strong working relationships across our business, working closely with strategists and engineers to develop and enhance CPM tools. Identify and pursue new business development opportunities.
- Product Development & Market Research: Work with the investment team to identify product development opportunities that align with market trends and client needs. Conduct competitive analyses, peer group analyses, and overall market research to inform product development and marketing strategies.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on fixed income client portfolio management.
- In-depth understanding of fixed income markets, including taxable and municipal bonds, and SMA structures.
- Proven experience working with HNW clients; trust and estate knowledge is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex investment concepts to diverse audiences, including senior management and clients.
- Expert PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create visually appealing and informative presentations that effectively convey complex information.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Highly self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to learn and retain new concepts and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Willingness to travel for client engagement opportunities.
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses (required).
Salary Range The expected base salary for this Chicago, IL, United States-based position is $100,000 to $230,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
