Position Title: Executive Chef

Salary: $75,000-$80,000/yr.

About the Role:
As an Executive Chef with FISD at Ensworth School, you will be the leader of all culinary operations, ensuring that our dining services are not only efficient but also creative and inspiring. You'll be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen functions, managing a team of culinary associates, maintaining the highest safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring cost-effective operations. Ensworth School is a prestigious K-12 day school, with 2 campuses and is located on 127 acres of scenic land adjacent to Edwin Warner Park and the Little Harpeth River. As Executive Chef, you'll have the opportunity to create exceptional dining experiences that contribute to the growth and well-being of our students and faculty.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the kitchen team in planning, creating, and executing diverse, seasonal menus that align with the school's values and enhance the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of the dining services, including managing cost controls, expenditures, and budgeting to meet financial goals while maintaining high culinary standards.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure the quality and availability of ingredients for daily operations while staying within budget.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and culinary team to roll out new and exciting culinary programs that elevate the overall dining experience.
  • Ensure all kitchen operations comply with safety, sanitation, and health regulations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Inspire, mentor, and train the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in culinary management, with a focus on high-volume production and catering.
  • Catering experience is required.
  • Proven experience in managing cost controls, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • A creative and forward-thinking approach to menu planning and culinary program development.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • A passion for culinary excellence, sustainability, and creating exceptional dining experiences.
