General Surgeon for Academic Medical Center in Reno/Tahoe

Renown Health, Northern Nevada's largest and only not-for-profit healthcare network, is seeking to hire a General Surgeon to join our growing Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery. The incumbent will be practicing in our region's growing South Reno location at South Meadows Medical Center to expand the services to our community and meet the needs of our patients.

The ideal Candidate will have completed a General Surgery residency and be a board certified Surgeon with adequately focused general, ACS, and elective surgery experience with a minimum of three (3) years of general clinical surgery practice experience.

Core Responsibilities will include being a productive and participating member of the Department of Surgery Renown Medical Group under the leadership of the Chair of Surgery, Vice Chair of Surgery and Division Chiefs.

The Surgeon will work closely and in cooperation with the management staff, directs comments and questions to the appropriate management person and follows administrative policies. The Surgeon actively participates in physician governance meetings, management decisions, and follows policies adopted by Renown Health and its medical staff. The Surgeon is expected to stay abreast of current advances in medicine by reviewing recent publications, attending in-services and educational meetings, and attending continuing medical education programs in the appropriate field.

Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are affiliate partners in Nevada's first integrated academic health system. The affiliation aims to improve the health of the community, region, and state through research, medical education, and expanded clinical care. Renown physicians participate as joint faculty at UNR Med for teaching, lectures, supervising clinical rotations, and other academic activities for the education of medical and physician assistant students, residents and fellows.
