Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

CDD's Medically Fragile Division is seeking to fill our Unit Administrator 2 position with a highly motivated, organized, experienced professional to provide administrative leadership for the statewide Medically Fragile RN Case Management Programs and related activities of the Division. This position will oversee the administrative functions and staff for this complex, statewide team.

The Unit Administrator 2 will coordinate all administrative aspects of the program, including fiscal and budget development and monitoring, reporting, and divisional HR functions. This position will be responsible for ensuring timeliness of documentation and that deadlines are met, so services are stable and without interruption, while assisting to ensure contractual practices are maintained at all times.

MFCMP wishes to hire a candidate to bring greater organization and efficiency to the program, while identifying growth opportunities to better serve the population. This position will oversee the program administrative duties, while participating in strategic and operational decision making as a member of the Program's leadership team. This position will collaborate closely with the program director, to oversee day to day operations, while assisting with fiscal, budgetary and contract management.

The Medically Fragile RN Case Management Program (MFCMP) established in 1985, is currently the sole provider of statewide home and community-based RN Case Management services to individuals, who are medically fragile. Services are provided through contracts with the State, the four NM Managed Care Organizations (MCO) and a third-party assessor (TPA).

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 2 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Consistently demonstrates a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing and prioritizing work assignments.

Proficient in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures to increase efficiency.

Knowledge of university accounting procedures involving procurement, travel, and/or employment; and computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications. (e.g., Banner, LoboMart, Chrome River, UNMJobs)

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with internal and external partners.

Proficient in the use of technology, including Microsoft applications, such as Excel and Outlook.
