Remote - New Jersey, USA (ability to drive into the headquarters office in Ewing, NJ on an as-needed basis).

In this highly impactful remote based role, you will be responsible for managing all Transportation operational activities within the US Sales Organization. You will make management decisions that directly impact on time service, case fill, production attainment, fine mitigation, and $215 million in Logistics Costs. This role will work with a diverse group of internal and external parties to execute existing Supply Chain best practices while identifying and implementing improvement opportunities for key performance indicators. The role works closely with the internal Transportation Network team to determine needed carrier adjustments based on service, cost & capacity. You are responsible for balancing workload within the Transportation Planning team and delegating tasks for on time completion. The role also extends to serving as transportation industry & capabilities subject matter expert, providing insight, perspective and guidance on current trends and best practices across internal and external partners within the Supply Chain.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Leads Transportation Planning team of four plus direct reports supporting day-to-day activities, project initiatives as well as future career development.

  • Manage all planning and operational transportation functions for over one hundred fifty unique shipping locations that include Distribution Centers, Production Plants, Contract Manufacturers, and Raw Material Suppliers while serving as the Transportation subject matter expert for customer-facing meetings and engagements.

  • Responsible for management and process ownership of Inbound Freight Program to include adding new raw material suppliers while managing service/cost to support manufacturing objectives.

  • Manage the Walmart Collect Transportation Process by identifying and implementing change controls to drive performance improvements and collaborating with Walmart Transportation.

  • Super-User for primary Transportation Systems applications e2open TMS, Four Kites, Microsoft Power BI, and Robotic Process Automation to drive best practices for automation, cost containment, and service improvements.

  • Participate as the Transportation lead representative and coordinator for acquisition projects.

  • Identify new and leverage existing reports within Power BI to drive impactful analytical decision making with a focus on looking around corners and proactive measures.

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA degree required

  • 5+ years of Supply Chain/Logistics experience

  • Strong MS Office skills required

  • Supervisory/Management experience is highly preferred

  • APICS or other professional certification preferred

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems, e2open TMS preferred

  • Experience with Predictive Analytics Applications, FourKites preferred

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Microsoft Power BI preferred

  • Working knowledge of SAP Sales and Distribution Module
