Waste Connections of Washington is seeking a dedicated Waste Reduction Manager to facilitate collaboration between city and county municipalities. This role involves working closely with local government officials to develop and implement policies, manage public services, and support community initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, and will be responsible for fostering partnerships that enhance community development and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with city and county officials to align municipal goals and services.

- Assist in planning and executing community projects and events.

- Develop and implement strategies to improve public communication and citizen engagement.

- Serve as a liaison between municipal agencies and the community to promote collaborative efforts.

- Guide and motivate team members to achieve their goals and excel in their roles.

- Develop strategic plans to meet organizational objectives and oversee their implementation.

- Recruit, train, and develop staff while managing performance through regular feedback and evaluations.

- Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments to ensure alignment with the organization's vision and goals.

- Oversee budgets and financial resources to ensure the efficient use of funds and alignment with organizational priorities.

- Identify issues and obstacles within the team or processes and implement effective solutions.

- Track project progress and assess team productivity to ensure objectives are met.

- Address conflicts within the team and foster a positive work environment.

- Make informed decisions that impact operations, team dynamics, and overall strategy.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Education, Communications, or a related field

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental education, community outreach, or program management.

- Strong understanding of recycling practices, waste management policies, and sustainability issues.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

- Proven ability to develop educational materials and deliver effective presentations.

- Strong organizational and project management skills.

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 + 10% bonus
