This position executes key talent management processes for succession planning and performance. Reporting directly to the Director of Talent Development, this role collaborates with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT), Talent Management COE team members, and HR business partners to assess and implement solutions that enhance talent visibility, development and performance achievement, especially at senior leadership levels. By supporting an enterprise-wide approach to career development and retention among senior leaders, this role will enable CONMED to build a stronger and deeper bench of leadership talent. This is a remote position. Essential duties and responsibilities Talent Reviews, Succession Planning and Development Programs
- Partner with Talent Management leadership to deliver and enhance talent review processes:
- Develop and manage tools, training and calendar to promote a consistent and effective approach to talent review discussions by leaders and HR partners across all regions
- Identify, propose, test and implement system enhancements
- Gather feedback, identify key metrics and implement improvements to enhance the adoption and impact of talent reviews.
- Support senior leadership talent reviews and succession planning:
- Communicate and cascade process communications to HR leaders
- Organize meeting materials and schedule calls with HR partners and business leaders
- Scheduling discussions to manage current and anticipated openings for key roles
- Ensure completion and documentation of leadership assessments, next planned position, and readiness in succession planning process
- Assist VP of Talent Management in managing succession plans and talent pools
- Track and analyze key metrics for the purpose of identifying succession gaps:
- Monitor metrics and talent commitments for key positions (macro and individual level)
- Track development steps and occurrence of regular talent conversations
- Aid and assist with leadership and hi-potential development programs:
- Conduct needs assessment(s) and research best practices.
- Offer ideas and recommendations to enhance leadership and hi-potential development.
- Work with project teams(s) to organize and orchestrate sustainable programs.
- Gather feedback and assess impact of leadership development programs.
Talent Analytics and Insights
- Create, track and refine metrics to provide valuable talent insights:
- Manage scorecards and analyze metrics to identify gaps.
- Analyze succession planning and performance data to identify opportunities to increase leadership capabilities.
- Provide insights to Talent Management (TM) COE colleagues (re: succession strategy and talent gaps) to help influence the direction/design of enterprise leadership development offerings.
- Partner with other members of the TM COE and to ensure integration of systems and processes across the Talent Management continuum.
- Collect and implement improvements based on feedback from HR Business Partners and leaders
Performance Achievement and Career Development
- Partner with leadership and HRIS to implement a globally aligned approach and processes for setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing continuous feedback.
- Assess effectiveness, impact and gaps of current performance management and evaluation processes. Research and offer recommendations to optimize performance management and achievement tools to drive company performance.
- Assist in developing tools, processes and resources to support effective performance and career development.
- Develop strategies, training and communications to promote the adoption of best practices, such as IDPs or performance coaching.
- Evaluate, propose and implement improvements to CONMED's career development tools and resources
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience in human resources management, talent development, organization development and/or talent management in a team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, human resources, industrial and organizational psychology preferred
- 5-10 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience in succession planning and performance management within a corporate environment to include individual goal and career development planning, appraisal processes and systems and/or feedback and coaching.
- Proven ability to drive programs, lead people through change and meet deliverables in a complex environment.
- Proven experience collaborating with remote teams with a strong focus on developing trusted relationships with the business.
- Demonstrated excellence in building strong and influential relationships at all levels within an organization; problem solving and proactive service orientation.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to package information in clear, concise executive level ready format.
- Critical and creative thinking skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience with curriculum and workshop design, and general OD tools and approaches.
This position is not eligible for employer based sponsorship. Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range is 75,000-118,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
