About the role

As a System / Software Engineer you could work with bleeding edge technology as you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays, banks and invests. This will involve developing core versions of software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, interacting with engineering groups and training clients on applications. You will perform support activities required to maintain a high level of availability and stability for one or more applications including incident/problem analysis and resolution, change deployment and certification, application performance, application operations management and development support.

About the team

The Enterprise Transaction Processing (ETP) team is responsible for the authorization and settlement of transactions for merchants across the United States and Canada. ETP consists of three sub teams - Authorization, Settlement, and Platform. The Platform team delivers solutions across a wide range of technologies, supporting Authorization, Settlement and other applications throughout the enterprise. We work closely with the Line of Business, Compliance, vendors, and technical teams inside the company to deliver products which are fast, reliable, and meet our customers' needs.

What you'll own

* Install, maintain and support application/source code and/or its components and subsystems including third party software.

* Create and maintain complete documentation relative to supported applications, software, and components.
* Design, develop, debug, and maintain software for applications running on various platforms.
* Adopt and master multiple programming languages and technologies, as required.

* Deploy, configure, and manage Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).

* Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware solutions based on product requirements.

* Participate in 24x7 on-call shift responsibilities for a mission critical transaction processing environment.

* Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

* Review, analyze, develop, install, modify, maintain and/or support major subsystem software components in a large computing environment across multiple production data centers.

* Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve reliability, security, resiliency, and performance of system.

* Ensure compliance with all pertinent regulations and policies.

* Actively participate in internal and external audits and reviews.

* Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you bring

* A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Willingness and ability to learn, master, and work in both new and older technologies.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization.

* Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts.
* Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients, and public.

* Requires in-depth knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices.
* Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to fluidly change context and priorities based on changing business needs.

* Ability to quickly grasp high-level business goals, derive requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions.

* Ability to respond to requests under tight deadlines in a dynamic working environment.
* Must be customer focused, well organized, self-motivated and self-directed.
* Familiarity of standards and best practices relevant to the information technology industry.

* Knowledge of Worldpay products and services.
* Software development experience with object oriented and structured programming languages.
* Experience with multiple scripting languages.

* Experience with wide array of DevOps tools.

* Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware including IBM mainframe z/OS and x86 Linux.

* Knowledge of payments industry practices, regulations, and operations.

A bonus if you have experience with:

* Developing in an online, multi-threaded, transaction processing environment.

* Developing and deploying applications on IBM z/OS.

* Designing and building RESTful APIs.

* Agile development methodologies.

* Security products such as Ingenico OnGuard, Voltage SecureData Payments, and Verifone VTP.

* PCI DSS, PCI PIN, and PCI P2PE compliance regulations.

* Cryptography and key management standards and tools.
