Position Highlights |
The Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies (CAMI) is seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of Research Professional I. This challenging position will work under the guidance of a Principal Scientist to develop novel therapies for cancer and autoimmunity. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Collaborates with senior researchers to design research methodologies.
- Follow detailed protocols and help in identifying, trouble shooting, and solving problems associated with experimental protocols.
- Maintain clear detailed written and digital notebooks of experimental design, setup, calculations and execution of laboratory procedures.
- Mouse colony management, includes animal handling, care, record keeping, and performing experimental procedures.
- Train colleagues in the operation of equipment and or experimental techniques.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures that include but are not limited to molecular biology, biochemical assays, sterile tissue culture, and in vivo mouse experiments.
- Assist with managing lab safety protocols, waste material, and arranging for disposal according to established procedures.
- Coordinates the acquisition of lab supplies as well as setup, upkeep, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Clean/sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment.
- Present results at laboratory meetings. Prepare presentations.
- Assist with manuscript preparation for publication, including data generation and analysis, generating figures, drafting manuscript text, and online submission.
- Generation of research data for funding applications and progress reports.
- Evaluation of research technologies.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact and work professionally with others as a team.
- Ability to communicate professionally in a clear, concise manner verbally and in writing.
- Ability to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Diligence and attention to detail in recording research data.
- Familiarity with biochemical and immunological concepts and techniques.
- Broad familiarity and hands-on experience with general lab techniques.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- One (1) year of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Two years of relevant work experience.
- Research experience in a relevant field of biochemistry, immunology, or immunotherapy.
- Experience with experimental design and execution.
- Experience with animal handling and mouse colony maintenance.
- Experience with mammalian cell tissue culture, mouse handling, and molecular biology techniques.
- Experience with basic lab protocols.
- Experience in complying with laboratory safety regulations.
- Experience with flow cytometry.
- Experience with molecular biology (PCR, cloning, DNA preparation) and biochemical assays (protein production, Western blots, ELISA).
