Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center withLevel I adult traumaandLevel II pediatric traumadesignations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Beaumont doctors on faculty.

Scope of Work

Performs non-invasive vascular testing in the IP/OP/EP vascular testing areas. Evaluates patient's medical history and symptoms to correlate pertinent information. Evaluate data and provide preliminary reports to the medical staff. Delivers care incorporating age, cultural and spiritual needs while demonstrating the Corewell Health standards and promoting a friendly, inviting, and safe atmosphere to patients, their families, significant others, and staff. Precepts students and new technologists. Maintains and updates departmental policies and protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Graduate from an accredited Vascular Technology program with either an associate's in allied health technology or diploma program.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred: A minimum of two years of vascular experience including abdomen.
  • Required: BLS certification
  • Required: Active Registered Vascular Technologist license with ARMDS registry.
  • Maintains excellent knowledge of vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, pathophysiology, and documentation. Demonstrates technical proficiency in non-invasive vascular lab testing protocols and procedures. Ability to teach/orient new technologists or students utilizing a positive, supportive, and goal-oriented style.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required in a fast-paced department. Must have advanced technical ability to perform all aspects of vascular testing and the ability to effectively mentor other technologists in protocols, procedures, and equipment.
