DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1, you will work closely with program providers and intake/eligibility reviewers providing feedback as needed. Responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with policy and requirements of the Waiver programs, becoming familiar with guidelines and procedures, and interpreting policies to staff, families and consumers. You will have the opportunity to review waiver charts, monitor for accuracy, and ensure program objectives are met. Work includes making recommendations of program improvement to ensure effective program operation and compliance with established time frames. This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with the CMSU quality improvement specialist.

Other duties to include:

  • Periodically reviewing and analyzing the process in place to evaluate effectiveness
  • Completing all intake paperwork in a timely manner
  • Adhering to all confidentiality standards as required by law
  • Attending relevant training

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
