Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Payroll Administrator to work in our Business Management department. Our team works an on-site 9x80 work schedule located out of Idaho Falls EROB facility with every other Friday off.

You will process weekly company payroll as part of payroll team and prepare payroll tax forms for federal, state and local governmental entities.

You will report to the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Process weekly company payroll as part of payroll team
  • Apply company payroll rules and make corrections to time billing sheets as required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll rules for unique employee groups requiring understanding of general and specific processes for exempt, nonexempt and union employees.
  • Process and prepare payroll tax forms for federal, state and local governmental entities.
  • Understanding of State tax laws for state payroll tax withholding, residency and applying teleworking agreements.
  • Understand quarterly (Form 941) reporting and filing and annually (Form W-2) processing and filing
  • Answer employees payroll tax withholding questions and help with Form W-4 questions.
  • Process various types of accounts payable invoices (purchase order invoices, vendor payment requests, subcontractor labor, etc.).
  • Maintain adequate payment records.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Resolve issues and concerns regarding vendor payments.
  • Perform other accounts payable tasks requiring knowledge and understanding of accounts payable policies and procedures.
  • Support testing of system updates and enhancements.
  • Understand and interpret technical material, rules, regulations, and instructions.
  • Use database management systems and related software.
  • Work within a project team.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Areas of Specialty may include Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll, Benefits, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Level NE2-High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant payroll experience

Level NE3-High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant payroll experience

Job Information:



  • The pay range for this position-level 2 Salary grade 320- ($19.88-$31.80 per hour)-Level 3 Salary grade 330 ($22.43-$37.00 per hour).
  • At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
