Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Department of Economics https://economics.uncg.edu/ offers a B.A., a B.S., an M.A. in Applied Economics, three graduate certificates, and a PhD. In addition, the Department delivers courses in the undergraduate business core and the MBA program.
The Bryan School of Business and Economics has 4,100 undergraduate and graduate students and 127 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments. Women comprise 46.7 percent of the school's faculty and 29.1 percent are from underrepresented ethnic groups ( UREG). Bryan School graduates have a strong placement rate and salary. Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, the Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors, and accolades. Additionally, in recent years its tenure-stream faculty members averaged 2 to 3 peer-reviewed journal articles each, among them 15-20 in FT50 journals plus another 20-25 in other 4 or 4* journals ( CABS AJG), in addition to books and grants. Position Summary
The Department of Economics in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Macroeconomics. The position has a target start date of either fall 2025 (August) or spring 2026 (January). The search will remain open until the position is filled.

The Department seeks candidates whose research is in applied macroeconomics or microeconomic theory. Successful candidates will be able to teach on-campus and online courses in macroeconomics at the undergraduate and graduate levels and will have an active research agenda.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants should hold a Doctoral Degree in Economics or a closely related field or have all degree requirements completed by the position's start date to be appointed as an Assistant professor.
  • Candidates who have completed all requirements, but their dissertation (ABD) will be initially appointed with the probationary term rank of Instructor for a maximum of one year and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to the end of that year to be appointed to the Assistant Professor position.
