SDFCU is seeking a Membership Development Manager to develop and implement sales strategies and plans that leverage membership development opportunities within SDFCU's Field of Membership (FOM). This includes working with various groups such as the Department of State, contractors, affiliates, Select Employer Groups (SEGs), schools, and associations, as well as attracting new SEGs to the FOM, as approved by the SDFCU Board of Directors. The position also focuses on member acquisition and retention, including overseeing sales campaigns, reward programs, and membership drives. Additionally, this role involves analyzing internal and external member data, contributing to membership development planning, and managing promotional campaigns. The position also oversees the Financial Literacy program and the Jefferson-Houston Student Branch program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of business development department and projects
- Lead team efforts to increase penetration within existing sponsor groups
- Enroll new sponsor groups to SDFCU's Field of Membership
- Develop and coordinate sponsor group marketing efforts
- Oversee new account functions and software administration
- Manage indirect lending new account functions
- Lead, coordinate, and manage team activities on interdepartmental project
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Minimum of five years of direct supervisory and leadership experience, preferably in sales or membership relationship management with the dedication to production/results
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred
- Demonstrated competencies in communication, recruiting, performance management, sales management, coaching, and decision-making
- Experience in vendor management, including contract negotiations and relationship oversight
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and prospects
- Experience conducting presentations, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to manage a budget, including forecasting and financial planning
- Experience working with government entities and business/organizational accounts
- Proficiency with PC keyboard and software tools necessary for branch automation
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to travel as needed, including internationally
- Basic understanding of credit and finance principles
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
