Job Responsibilities:
1. Provides primary health care services within scope of practice to adults in accordance with approved privileges.
2. Provides after-hours coverage for SSCHC patients.
3. Works in partnership with an Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) and one or more other team members to care for a shared panel of patients on the medical team, which includes but is not limited to diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions.
4. Emphasizes health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention.
5. Includes patient in medical decision making.
6. Orders, conducts and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
7. Prescribes medication.
8. Prepares and maintains medical patient reports and records.
9. Abides by all SSCHC policies and procedures.
10. Has the option to participate in the training of APP's, medical students and medical residents.
11. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 1. Licensed as a physician in the State of Wisconsin.
2. Completion of Internal Medicine Residency from an accredited Internal Medical Program.
3. Board certification or eligible for Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
4. Licensed for prescriptive authority in the State of Wisconsin.
5. Insurable for liability coverage as an Internist.
6. Working knowledge of the social and cultural factors associated with the community's use of social and health care services.
7. Ability to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop and orient program goals and concepts accordingly, and to work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, the public, patients, other private and public organizational representative, health care personnel and community groups and organizations.
9. Ability to work under pressure, maintains personal composure, evaluate situations and act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with visitors, patients and difficult situations.
10. Ability to identify and maintain confidential material.
11. Ability to interpret and conform program operations to applicable laws, rules, regulations and funding source requirements and according to acceptable standards.
12. BLS certification maintained.
13. Spanish speaking preferred.
