JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Animal Diagnostic Laboratory (ADL) is looking for an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual to fill our Administrative Assistant position. You will be fully on-site at the University Park ADL facility and become a critical part of a team that is focused on providing exceptional diagnostic services to the animal agricultural producers of Pennsylvania.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide broad management and administrative support and oversight for the ADL team, including the Director, faculty and staff.

  • Manage the ADL client/customer (primarily veterinarians, livestock and poultry farmers) experience, including receiving and responding to inquiries, addressing feedback, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Produce and submit reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including granting agencies.

  • Complete paperwork and processes required to fill ADL personnel vacancies, hire student employees, and arrange for visiting scholars. Assist with interview scheduling and other aspects of the hiring process.

  • Work with the ADL Quality Management team to manage equipment inventory, as well as ensuring appropriate retention of records to meet internal and external requirements.

  • Collaborate with peers at the other Pennsylvania Animal Diagnostic Laboratory System partners to ensure smooth administrative operations across the system.

  • Help plan veterinary continuing education events, including providing certificates and documentation to participants.

  • Assist with other duties as requested.

This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

This position will be filled at the senior support level and minimum requirements include an associate's degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$42,100.00 - $61,000.00
