Company is looking for a CTO that can take their company to the next phase and build process, strategy, program management, align with leadership team on creating a vision and product development. The company has a product today that has made them a lot of money, but instead of growing the business they are stuck on enhancing their only product. Recently bought another company which uses facial recognition for theft in stores. Company was inventor founded and a lot of really smart engineers/developers/tech folks (roughly 60-75). CIO would report to this person and CTO would report to CEO. Internal Job Description: Position Overview: The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for driving the technological vision and strategy of Gatekeeper Systems in alignment with our business objectives. This role entails leading the managing R&D, a team of 75 engineers working a stack from hardware (embedded chipset) and to advanced cloud service integration, and ancillary services like Program Management and Enterprise IT. The CTO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and collaborate closely with other senior leaders to foster innovation and maintain our competitive edge in the market. Key Responsibilities: Technological Strategy and Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with Gatekeeper Systems' business goals and objectives, ensuring the effective integration of FaceFirst's AI/computer vision capabilities. Product Development and Innovation: Oversee the research, development, and deployment of new products and enhancements, leveraging advanced AI and facial recognition technologies to address the evolving needs of our clients in loss prevention and security. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the technology and engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration. System Integration and Management: Ensure seamless integration of new technologies into existing systems, maintaining functionality, security, and efficiency across all platforms. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical advisor to the executive team and board of directors, effectively communicating technological strategies, advancements, and potential risks. Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology department's budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in technology that drive business growth and efficiency. Compliance and Security: Ensure that all technological processes and systems comply with relevant regulations and standards, particularly concerning data privacy and security in AI applications. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in senior technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing complex technology integrations in a B2B space. Development process building experience with agile/scrum/Kanban Primarily on-site, with some off-shore augmentation Technical Expertise: Knowledge of computer vision technologies, facial recognition systems, cloud. Ideally low level hardware to cloud level big data inclusive. Wide technical scope from IoT firmware to pytorch to big data backends & analytics IoT experience Cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) Video clip processing and archival management The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, and can mentor all of the teams while exhibiting maze-brightness in areas that are new Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies that align with business objectives and drive innovation. Compensation: Base compensation to be in the $250-$300K range commensurate with experience. Gatekeeper Systems is a private equity held business. Participation in profit sharing and equity are a part of the comprehensive package.
