Duties and Responsibilities
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Nunzia Caporarello to study basic and translational aspects of lung injury, repair and fibrosis with specific emphasis on the role of vascular dysfunction and aging in the progression of chronic lung diseases.

  • A postdoctoral/research scholar participates substantially in full-time, mentored research or scholarship. It is a transitional position and is viewed as preparatory for an academic and/or research career.
  • The scholar may also serve as a collaborator on a multi-scholar research initiative, and may have lead responsibility for discrete components of a larger project under the general direction of a senior or principal researcher.
  • Perform other task as assigned.


Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
  • M.D. or PhD Required
Qualifications
  • Established experience in three or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

    • Advanced techniques in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology;
    • Primary mouse and human cell isolation, culture, and sorting of lung cell populations;
    • Cell/tissue imaging techniques such as fluorescence and confocal microscopy;
    • Single cell sequencing and analysis;
    • Extracellular vesicles and miRNAs related work.



The candidate will be expected to develop and execute independent research plans leading to peer-reviewed publications, have a strong work ethic and possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Maximum consideration will be given to candidates enthusiastic about science, with high research motivation and initiative towards independence.
