We're looking for a Principal User Researcher to join Procore's Product & Technology Team. Procore builds software that improves the lives of everyone in construction, and our team is the driving force behind our global platform. We're a customer-focused group that includes engineering, product, design, data, security, and business systems.

In this role, you'll drive strategic research initiatives that directly influence product vision and long-term roadmaps. You'll partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to define research priorities, mentor cross-functional partners, and deliver high-impact insights that shape critical business decisions. Leverage your advanced mixed-methods expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills to elevate research practices, champion a user-centered culture, and deliver exceptional product experiences. You'll be a confident advocate, ensuring user needs and research efficiency are key drivers of our KPIs.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, User Research and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We're looking for someone to start soon. Join our team of Groundbreakers!

What you'll do:

  • Lead Strategic Research & Impact: Drive complex research, proactively identifying opportunities and influencing product vision through data-driven insights.

  • Develop & Manage Research Roadmaps: Create and manage strategic research roadmaps, prioritizing projects based on impact and aligning with cross-functional leadership.

  • Mentor & Elevate Research Quality: Mentor junior and mid-level researchers, ensuring consistently high-quality research output and fostering professional growth.

  • Architect Advanced Mixed-Methods Strategies: Design and implement innovative research strategies, leveraging advanced techniques including inferential statistics, to address complex user and market challenges.

  • Synthesize Strategic Insights & Drive Decisions: Translate complex research findings into compelling, actionable insights for leadership, driving data-informed decisions and influencing product strategy.

  • Analyze & Maintain Key UX Metrics: Proactively analyze and maintain key UX metrics, establishing robust tracking systems and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Advocate for User-Centered Design & Research Efficiency: Confidently advocate for user needs and efficient research practices, ensuring they drive KPIs and product success.

What we're looking for:

  • Master's degree (HCI, Psychology, Sociology, or related) or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years leading strategic user research in SaaS B2B.

  • Deep expertise in advanced mixed-methods research, including inferential statistics, longitudinal studies, ethnography, and statistical analysis.

  • Proven ability to translate complex research into strategic business recommendations that drive measurable impact.

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and guiding research teams, fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering data-driven solutions.

  • Deep understanding of user-centric problem-solving, design thinking, and full-cycle product development.

  • AEC industry experience is a plus.

QualificationsAdditional Information

Base Pay Range $198,240 - $272,580. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
