This is a hybrid role located at our facility in Brown Deer Wisconsin.

About the role:
An employee of FIS Critical Facilities & Data Center Operations this Hardware Planner position is a full-time opportunity. The Hardware Planner role in Data Center Operations fills the daily operations and administration needs for the Data Center by attending meetings, engineering solutions related to DC Ops, coordinating with vendor and FIS Technology support teams, and managing ticket task assignments.

In addition to administration the hardware planner also installs, cables, moves, decommissions, and ensure the safety of technology devices in the data center.

What you will be doing:

Plan and manage data center space utilization.

  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of data processing equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and support teams.
  • Ensure safety and operational stability of technology devices.
  • Analysis of the infrastructure capacity of installed equipment and makes recommendations based on results of analysis.
  • Manages and coordinates day-to-day building/facility and space utilization activities, e.g., space allocation, facility security, outage prevention
  • Large data center consolidation/move projects may be managed by a Project or Program Manager with sub-projects and activities managed by the Hardware Planner.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically, a minimum of 4 years of Data Center support/maintenance
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware technologies and data center environments.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and provide on-call support.
  • Must be available for on call support 24/7 of the critical infrastructure
