Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an Administrative Coordinator. Reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life Administration & Operations, the Administrative Coordinator (AC) is a critical member of the office, supporting the Associate Dean, Directors and other central office staff to fulfill their mission of providing excellent service to the community of Rutgers University-Newark. The AC provides the day-to-day administrative support to the Offices of Community Standards & Student Development and Residence Life.
This position will be responsible for and not limited to the following:
- Coordination and implementation of the calendar
- Coordination of various meetings for a variety of stakeholders
- Shopper for purchasing system
- Reserving rooms; ordering catering; coordinating transportation and travel
- Maintaining office technology; coordination of all front desk functions, and general administrative support
- The AC is expected to perform professional work that requires the basic application and use of concepts and terminology used in both CSSD and Res Life in a manner consistent with a basic understanding of their visions and missions
- This position requires patience, professionalism, and ability to work well in a very busy office that provides a large volume of high-quality services.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy

- Strong customer service skills and experience working with diverse populations
- Background in college student development and/or knowledge of college student development theories/philosophies

Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience assisting executive level position
