Position: Tooling Technician I Location: Waynesville, NC Pay Rate: $27.25 Shift: 6:45pm-7:00am 12 hour shifts While reporting to the Department Lead, you will be responsible for change overs, installing and setting up molds according to production schedule to ensure efficient production You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail. Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Change over, install, and set up molds according to production schedule. Position, bolt and clamp mold into press bed. * Connect lines, adjust, and regulate heat and pressure settings. Monitor operations of assigned equipment * Help machine operators as needed * Clean molds removed from production and blow out lines. Examine for damage or wear. * Maintain records relating to control instruments * Fabricate, install, repair and rebuild a variety of machine tools and parts to support operating capabilities of production and service equipment * Produce replacement metal parts to repair mechanical equipment. * May fabricate metal (and other materials) parts for experimental or prototype equipment * Read and interpret blueprints and drawing to plan setup and operation of machine ship tools and equipment * Use full range of precision measuring instruments and gauges * Layout and perform difficult machining operations on replacement parts * Help train new employees when necessary * Follow all safety policies and procedures * Must be able to correctly follow housekeeping policy * Comply with all company policies and procedures * Basic computer skills with capability to accurately report shift activity daily. * Other duties as requested by Supervisor This position is in our Plastics plant in beautiful Waynesville, NC where we are producing plastic thermoformed trays. * We expect you to be mission driven * Must have an excellent attendance record * You must have a "get it done" attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks. * To succeed in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills * Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed. * Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must. * You will need to be able to lift as much as 30 lbs. as needed. * Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success. * You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions. * You will need to able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time. * You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. * Must Demonstrate some level of mechanical aptitude as this position requires a Mechanical mindset. .
