Overview
Provide technical and administrative support in managing day-to-day operations related to Claims Legal systems applications and administrative operations. Support all phases of the deployment and maintenance of Selective's Claims Legal matter management system and facilitate partnerships with third-party vendors. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Anticipated travel 20%.
Responsibilities
- Define, design, implement and maintain end-to-end legal matter management system integrations, update and troubleshoot the form/document library for all regions, and monitor system utilization. Champion the product vision and goals. Act as liaison between vendor, Claims Legal and IT teams. Serve as a resource for end-users, elevate noncompliance issues to management, and coordinate regular training sessions. Identify opportunities for efficiency and make recommendations for improvement. Maintain consistency in administrative policies and procedures in accordance with corporate policies.
- Participate in Claims Legal initiatives/projects and maintain responsibility for understanding the current state of systems and process developments and associated work-flows and communication plans. Develops new process ideas, document project requirements and maintain work-flows with a high degree of independence. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise for all legal and claims process platforms and delivery methods including but not limited to advanced and customized functionality and content.
- Maintain regular communication with VP, Claims General Counsel, AVP Litigation Management and Regional Directors; attend regional meetings. Provide ongoing support and training to all Claims Legal employees.
- Prepare timelines and prioritized work lists for the delivery of services while focusing on business value. Respond to first level questions and communicates delays across stakeholders.
- Assess and represent development challenges throughout the administrative process and system lifecycles, offering solutions to leadership; remove impediments to team progress and communicate concerns to stakeholders. Seek out opportunities to scale administrative systems and processes and flag opportunities for efficiencies. Conduct impact analysis of technology changes on business processes and existing technology. Assist with recruiting, selection, resource allocation and other administrative planning functions, as needed.
- Participate with orientation/on-boarding of new business unit employees. Provide training and support to key stakeholders throughout the strategy, roll-out and feedback life cycle for administrative processes and end-user computing systems.
- Conduct system and administrative process maintenance checks in collaboration with team leadership and other business units and address larger-scale issues and internal and external customer needs.
- Oversee administrative functions related to vendor relationships, execution and retention, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and procurement requisites.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements
Has knowledge of and experience with insurance, legal or other professional service organizations and has experience deploying business processes, administrative functions and operations. Can identify and analyze complex issues and problems in administrative and systems areas and recommend and implement solutions. Can manage office functions economically and efficiently, organize work, establish priorities, and maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with lawyers and support staff.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 10+ years of experience in insurance operations.
- Demonstrated success in leading projects from inception to delivery.
- Experience with the design, implementation, launch and maintenance of legal matter management systems is required.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
Pay Range
USD $97,000.00 - USD $146,000.00 /Yr.
