We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Principal Product Portfolio Manager to manage the delivery of our highest value portfolios, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving sustainable success across T-Mobile.
As the Principal Product Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing key processes related to portfolio health, pipeline composition, and strategic alignment of our most critical, high-value initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve staffing gaps, optimize portfolio composition, and provide executive-level insights into resource allocation. This role requires an analytical mindset, a deep understanding of business priorities, and the ability to drive continuous improvement and impact for our highest value portfolios.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the pipeline of high-value initiatives, ensuring that they align with organizational goals, executive sponsorship, and business priorities. Drive the progression of initiatives through each gate by ensuring high-quality inputs are completed and visible in dashboards.
- Partner closely with Finance to map and align submitted initiatives against the annual financial plan, ensuring investment decisions support corporate objectives. Provide visibility into financial impact, prioritize initiatives based on budgetary constraints, and adjust portfolio composition as needed to maximize LRP.
- Ensure that all business cases and requirements for initiatives are standardized and submitted on time, with appropriate product and tech leads assigned. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as the number of initiatives with completed requirements and business cases, new initiative NPV values, and impacts.
- Manage the capacity and assessment planning for high-value initiatives, ensuring that delivery teams are adequately resourced and committed. Collaborate with teams to include monthly capacity checks and address any staffing gaps.
- Ensure that standardized taxonomies, roles, and responsibilities (R&Rs) are implemented across the portfolio to maintain consistency in execution and delivery. Track delivery SLAs, ensuring time-to-market targets are met.
- Monitor post-launch value for initiatives, ensuring performance is tracked against KPIs like revenue versus actual targets and NPS. Ensure that the governance SLAs are maintained throughout the lifecycle of the portfolio.
- Ensure that the portfolio complies with the organizational taxonomy and initiative breakdown standards. Regularly review initiatives for compliance and make adjustments as needed.
- Identify at-risk projects and raise them in Enterprise Steering meetings, driving corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Support ongoing governance activities, including tracking progress through each gate, ensuring that all deliverables are on time and accurately reflected in reports. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that processes and initiatives evolve based on insights gained throughout the portfolio lifecycle.
- Gather feedback and contribute to continuous improvement by identifying areas where processes can be optimized, leveraging lessons learned, and ensuring that feedback loops are integrated into portfolio management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
- Manage and optimize the full pipeline of initiatives, ensuring a balanced mix of high-value projects that align with both long-term strategic goals and immediate business needs.
- Drive the continuous roadmap by integrating new initiatives while maintaining alignment with evolving priorities.
Qualifications:
