Manager II - Finance, People & Culture

About the Role:

At Boston Scientific, the Finance team is looking for a Senior Manager, People and Culture for the global finance innovation initiative, Finance Forward, to play a key leadership role in continuing to drive the strategy and success of multiple connected projects driving sustainable improvements across our financial processes and capabilities to scale for future growth.This role will interface with the finance leadership team in creating and implementing learning and development strategies within the organization. They will work to ensure future projects are tied to advancing finance strategy while inspiring, driving, and supporting continuous improvement.This is a hybrid position with the flexibility to be located at multiple BSC locations. You will have the opportunity to discuss your preferred working location with your Talent Acquisition Specialist.

The Finance Forward People & Culture Manager will report to Program Director within the transformation office team. As part of the team, this role will be responsible for direct collaboration with HR business partners and the central Talent Management and Learning and Development teams in the development and deployment of on-boarding, training and upskilling opportunities to support Finance career development. The culture of the team is to work as a group and be flexible and willing to jump into the broader team responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities Include:



  • Lead in the development, design and execution of strategy to address on-boarding and upskilling needs for Global Finance
  • Drive high degree of collaboration with HR business partners and the Talent Management and Learning & Development teams in support of the workstream to:

    • review and revise current experience, skillset and behavior models
    • identify skill, capability and behavior gaps within the Finance function
    • prioritize and drive actions to close identified gaps
    • determine opportunities to enhance and refine current Global Finance competency and experience models
    • provide thoughtful consideration to what activities should be defined and driven at a global level and what should be tailored for local delivery


  • Harmonize and drive adoption of Finance on-boarding processes
  • Identify and collaborate with relevant stakeholder groups, build relationships and understanding in support of a more enhanced team member experience
  • Connect with other initiative workstreams to understand emerging skill requirements and develop plans to support
  • Coordinate with Change Management and Communications resources to create strategies for adoption and monitoring
  • Support engagement leveraging the Change Champion Network, managed centrally as part of the wider Program to build momentum around the change
  • Build relationships and confidence to influence at a senior level, both inside and outside of the function
  • Shape the long-term Learning and Development roadmap for the Global Finance organization.


What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 10 years Finance experience within a large company, with varying roles
  • Bachelor's Degree required, a master's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Organizational Development, Training & Development, Human Resources, Leadership or other related area.
  • Experience coaching and developing team members
  • Experience implementing development plans, experience designing development plans
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of effective Project Management
  • Experience in working with a large, complex organization, and working in partnership with a number of organizations/stakeholders.
  • Very strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and proven experience of managing risks and issues to mitigate potential obstacles.
  • Demonstrates an extensive proven track record of success in ability to influence, lead, coach, and motivate others
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
