Closing Date: April 10th, 2025, or upon receipt of the first 50 applicant submissions Housing Inspector - Home Repair Department of Health and Human Services Annual Salary Range: $57,553.60 - $66,996.80 JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Housing Program Manager, the Housing Inspector - Home Repair performs comprehensive inspections of private properties identified for rehabilitation; inventories repair work needed; creates and approves scopes of work; estimates rehabilitation costs; ensures all rehabilitation and new construction work performed by contractors conforms to scopes of work as well as building codes, construction specifications, and Federal HUD and State regulations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the regulations governing subsidized programs such as HUD; knowledge of work processing applications; ability to operate a personal computer; ability to prioritize and organize workload; ability to determine rental subsidies; ability to effectively communicate in written and oral form; ability to secure confidential information; ability to perform calculations to determine eligibility; ability to work harmoniously and effectively with staff members, government officials, case managers and the general public.
