Job Title: Branch Manager

Company: Interstate Energy Systems

Location: Surprise, Arizona

Interstate Energy Systems is seeking an experienced and dynamic Branch Manager to oversee our Power Generation Service operations at our Surprise, Arizona location. The Branch Manager will be responsible for driving the branch's performance by managing sales, service, and operational activities related to power generation equipment, including diesel and gas generators. This role requires leadership in fostering a customer-focused culture, ensuring operational efficiency, and achieving financial goals while maintaining high standards of safety and service quality for emergency standby, prime power, mobile, and rental applications. The ideal candidate would be an individual currently employed as a Power Generation Technician who is seeking to transition into a leadership position and get out of the field.

Leadership and Team Management:





    • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of service technicians, and support staff to achieve branch objectives.
    • Recruit, train, and develop employees, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement development plans to enhance team capabilities.




Sales and Business Development:





    • Oversee the sales of power generation equipment and services, including developing and executing strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across diverse industries (e.g., commercial, industrial, marine, and emergency services).
    • Identify new business opportunities, expand market presence in the Surprise, AZ region, and collaborate with the sales team to close deals.
    • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies accordingly.




Service Operations Oversight:





    • Manage the service department to ensure timely and high-quality maintenance, repair, and installation of power generation systems.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies during service operations.
    • Coordinate with technicians to maintain an efficient workflow, optimize resource allocation, and minimize downtime for customers.




Financial and Operational Management:





    • Develop and manage the branch budget, ensuring profitability through effective cost control and revenue generation.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales growth, service efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
    • Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels of parts and equipment to support sales and service demands.




Customer Service Excellence:





    • Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing client needs, resolving issues, and maintaining open communication.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts and escalate complex issues to senior management as needed.
    • Uphold Interstate Energy Systems' commitment to "Pride in Service" in all customer interactions.




Compliance and Safety:





    • Enforce compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and DOT standards, as applicable.
    • Promote a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety protocols and training programs.
    • Ensure proper documentation and reporting for service, sales, and operational activities.




Qualifications:



  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in a management role, preferably in power generation, industrial equipment sales/service, or a related industry.
  • Skills:

    • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
    • Strong sales acumen with experience in B2B sales and customer relationship management.
    • Knowledge of power generation systems (e.g., diesel/gas generators, controls, and paralleling systems) is highly preferred.
    • Financial management skills, including budgeting and P&L responsibility.
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM/ERP systems.




Work Environment



  • The role is based at the Surprise, AZ branch (11690 N 132nd Ave), with standard hours of Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. After-hours availability may be required for emergency service support or customer needs.
  • Occasional travel within the region may be necessary to meet with clients or attend training/industry events.
