Sr. Accountant
Cambridge, MA (hybrid, Tuesday & Wednesday onsite)
7 month + contract with perm potential
Pay Rate: $60 - $65HR
***Hours: Fluid hours: 1 week in the month may be 45 - 50 hours, other weeks may be 20 per week (typically no weekend work but may come up during month end closes, please be flexible)
***Candidates should have 4 years of accounting experience with 2 years' experience in big 4 public accounting (no cap on experience but someone with a lot of experience may not be open to this type of a role)
EDUCATION: CPA REQUIRED (can be from any state)

Summary: The successful candidate will help the group to ensure that they file timely and accurate financial statements to comply with financial regulations. During the period of April to December, the accounting group must complete various activities stipulated by rules and regulations where a reduction in staff create a financial reporting risk. Those activities include:
- Monthly financial close processes that serve as the basis for various budget to actual analysis
- Q1, Q2 and Q3 2025 quarterly close and PwC review processes
- Including preparation of Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee quarterly packages
- Q1, Q2 and Q3 2025 preparation and issuance of Form 10Qs with the SEC
- Execution and testing of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of SOX controls
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum 4+ years of accounting experience, with 2 years of experience in Big 4 public accounting
- Experience with posting journal entries, preferably in SAP S4/HANA ERP system
- Prior public accounting experience and knowledge of internal controls/SOX is preferred
- Comfortable working in excel and large sets of data
- Responsible for preparation of account reconciliations and flux analysis to support month end and quarter end accounting close
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and flux analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities by analyzing financial data and preparing necessary reports.
- Work with large datasets in Excel, utilizing advanced functions to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements to maintain financial integrity.
- Assist with audits by preparing supporting schedules and documentation.
Estimated Min Rate: $60.65
Estimated Max Rate: $65.00
