Role Summary

Provide leadership and technical expertise guidance to product development teams focusing on developing consumer-centric solutions in Fabric Care. Lead and develop technical staff supporting their professional growth.

Shape innovation pipelines in partnership with cross-functional partners by mining consumer insights and by converting them to technical/product solutions. Be a primary product development contact for resolution of cost savings, quality, and business continuity initiatives.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead product development teams by allocating resources to support innovation and base-business-focused initiatives, by guiding technical staff in identifying appropriate technical solutions, and by supporting/advising the team members on their professional development.
  • Drive learning plans to mine consumer insights and convert them into technical solutions.
  • Shape innovation pipeline in collaboration with cross-functional partners based on established consumer insights and business strategy.
  • Act as a point of contact for plant technical and quality teams to support base-business initiatives.
  • Liaise with other R&D functions, marketing, legal and other functions in support of the SBU.
  • Represent R&D management/supervisor at team meetings/SBU meetings and with non R&D functions (e.g. Marketing, Legal) as required.
  • Represent C&D at external meetings and professional organizations as needed.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have a B.S. degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines, with 15+ years of laboratory experience, or a Ph.D with 7+ years experience. Preferably, possess 7+ years of supervisory/management experience.

  • Ability to lead projects independently with staff and be results driven.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior and experienced staff and guide personnel in their professional development.
  • Strong presentation, writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to develop, organize and prioritize resources to support and grow product portfolio.
  • Ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, work planning, data driven problem-solving skills, and digital skills
  • Ability to manage large workload at times and to adapt to reprioritization as necessary in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment involving marketing, processing, packaging, analytical, safety and clinical regulatory, etc.
