The Seat Belt Systems Development Lead will be responsible to lead the design and development of seat belt systems which meet quality, comfort, regulatory and functional objectives for vehicle applications. The Development Lead will perform up-front feasibility assessment with Advanced Vehicle Engineering and the Product Design Office for new programs; develop and maintain global performance specifications, standardized source packages, lessons learned, and Core Documents such as Design Practices, DFMEAs and DVP&Rs for seat belt systems. The selected candidate will mentor seat belt engineers to ensure preferred practices are utilized in new designs, lead escalated root cause analysis activities, support TSRC investigations, and verify manufacturing/assembly feasibility with Supplier Quality Engineering. The candidate will be responsible for leading the development of future technologies, component benchmarking activities, staying abreast of regulatory updates and 3rd Party requirements impacting the seat belt systems, and new supplier development. The Development Lead will also be the point of contact for all decoupled projects for seat belt systems. This position is key to assuring that all program milestones, deliverables, and targets are met for seat belt systems including cost, weight, investment and regulatory compliance. The roles and responsibilities also include but are not limited to: leading supplier technical reviews for supplier sourcing; reviewing compliance reports, owner's manuals and service manuals; leading management design reviews; developing technical descriptions for cost estimates; review and approve validation plans and results, supporting engineer performance assessments.
