Sales Specialist - Automotive Aftermarket for Public Safety Vehicles

We are seeking an experienced Sales Specialist to join our team, focusing on the automotive aftermarket for public safety vehicles, including police and pursuit units. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales within the fleet upfitting industry, specifically catering to law enforcement and emergency response vehicles. This role requires a deep understanding of vehicle upfitting processes, strong relationships with fleet upfitters, and the ability to drive sales growth in this specialized market.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the public safety vehicle sector. Develop and maintain strong relationships with fleet upfitters, law enforcement agencies, and other key stakeholders to promote our aftermarket products and services.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional customer service. Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet the specific requirements of public safety vehicle upfitting.
  • Product Knowledge and Consultation: Maintain in-depth knowledge of our product offerings and stay updated on industry trends and advancements. Provide expert consultation to clients on product selection, integration, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Sales Planning and Reporting: Develop strategic sales plans to achieve targets and expand market share. Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the automotive aftermarket industry, with a focus on fleet upfitting for public safety vehicles. Direct experience working with police and pursuit vehicle upfitters is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle upfitting processes, products, and industry standards related to public safety vehicles. Familiarity with the specific needs and requirements of law enforcement agencies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and negotiate with clients and partners.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, upfitters, and industry stakeholders.
  • Self-Motivation: Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support sales initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards for public safety vehicle equipment.
