IDEXX is growing and we are looking for a Facilities Mechanic based at our Memphis facility, who will report into the Regional Facilities Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support in mechanical, building trades, conveyors and building automation. The ideal candidate will be the onsite subject matter expert in the areas of facilities systems & equipment maintenance, safety, building code, hazards and supporting internal facility projects. You will also be responsible for vendor support and on-site oversight. Most importantly this position is a point person for all facility needs to our internal customers. Assist Facilities Manager in service cost containment, supplies and equipment cost and purchases while maintaining Servicenow work order system and work with customers to ensure their needs are met. Utilize building automation systems. Ability to troubleshoot with the BAS systems and make repairs and corrections as necessary. Maintain electrical/plumbing components to repair equipment or improve equipment performance. You will visually inspect and test machinery and equipment to assure proper functioning and makes any repairs as required. Perform variety of other facilities-related duties, which may include outside maintenance, including grounds work, as needed. You will contribute to maintenance of internal technology and systems resources within own group(s). Coordinates with related technology areas, vendors and others as needed to resolve issues, perform system upgrades, and maintain ongoing functionality. Participate in small to large complex office moves including breaking down and rebuilding offices, moving totes, computer, and phone moves, etc. You will maintain, and repair facility structures including, building facade, roofs, painting, Sheetrock repair, ceiling repair, door maintenance and repair, locks, etc. Participate in on-call rotation duties.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
You possess a High school education, plus 1 to 6 years of relevant technical training/experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. You have a broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning system installation, maintenance, and repair, as well as general plumbing. You have experience in the working knowledge of building automation management systems and controls as well as ability to work from blueprints and specification with all tools, materials, methods and hazards of the trade You possess strong communication skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Ideally you will have experience using Maximo CMMS Systems. Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Physical Demands:
Moderate - computer use. Standing, walking, and sitting for periods of time. Use hands, fingers, and arms to handle objects, tools, and controls. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, works in outside weather conditions, and occasionally uses a stepladder. Occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particulate, toxic and caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Wear protective clothing, hearing protection and safety glasses as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
