POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The primary role of the Manager of Labor Optimization is to enhance and support operations in the Extended Stay America portfolio. This position involves supporting labor management initiatives and platforms, while identifying efficiencies across all ESA properties. An ideal candidate is goal-oriented, resourceful, collaborative, and knowledgeable about the labor impact of different operating models.
MAJOR / KEY JOB DUTIES


  • Collaborates across the organization as a team player and contributor.
  • Creates and presents ideas/materials to diverse audiences at properties, corporate office, and investor levels.
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills to gather/analyze data and solve complex problems.
  • Prepares and distributes collected data accurately for Operations meetings.
  • Coordinates, implements, and executes projects spanning multiple departments understand operational workflows and processes.
  • Pilots/tests new ideas in properties and adapts to continuous changes in market conditions, procedures, and strategy.
  • Demonstrates financial acumen to establish and prioritize spending for both capital and operating budgets.
  • Credibly commands a room as a trainer and meeting facilitator.
  • Collaborates with operations, finance, and brand to establish/adjust labor standards.
  • Needs Identify and address labor opportunities to control costs with operations regularly assess opportunities to enhance labor reporting or reduce costs Integrate into the Labor Standards team
  • Identifies optimal labor efficiencies by property type.
  • Implements and maintains labor management platforms to enhance accountability and productivity.
  • Coordinates training for labor management platforms.
  • Establishes and executes a data-driven narrative approach for the field, company, and sponsors.
  • Develops and promotes best practices to reduce workers' compensation in conjunction with the Risk Management team.
  • Shares best practices across both Owned and Franchised divisions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES


  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage numerous daily responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending instructions, emails, and memos Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-site facilities.
  • Ability to effectively train and present information in group situations and to other employees of the organization.
  • Excellent self-leadership, interpersonal communication skills, and cultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the company.
  • Communicate with site and corporate level teams for implementation and progress of new projects/installs.


ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Amount of Overnight Travel: 10 to 20%.
  • May be required to work irregular or extended working hours to complete projects.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from college and/or a minimum of 5 years' experience with Labor / Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of problem-solving and the demands of managing multiple sites.
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills with the ability to understand detailed reports in using common computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Over 5 years of Project Management experience.
