*Description*
* Actively participates in the recruitment and retention of qualified staff members. * Provides staff orientation, development and on-going training of staff members and Supervisors. * Develops and implements effective training programs to address training needs of the functional areas of responsibility and as mandated by government and contracted agencies, third parties and department standard operating procedures. * Oversees the management of workflow activities. Assigns job duties to achieve patient/customer satisfaction while adhering to contract guidelines. * Actively participates in the formulation of policies and procedures relating to assigned departmental functions. * Implements procedures for improved operations, modifications to and/or implementations of new procedures. * Assists with the development of long and short term unit goals and objectives to support departmental and hospital strategic plan; directs staff in accomplishing same according to schedule. * Completes employee performance evaluations in a timely manner. * Establishes performance standards (quantitative and qualitative) for area of responsibility, monitors and controls productivity and encourages innovations for improvement. * Reviews personnel productivity and quality monitoring reports and provides feedback to the Director. * Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate issues regarding compliance with established procedures and overall work unit effectiveness. * Performs conflict-resolution, presents employee commendations, conducts problem solving and implements progressive disciplinary actions appropriate to PSJH policies and procedures. * Manages areas of responsibility in compliance with established policies and procedures of PSJH, regulations of applicable regulatory agencies and standards of JCAHO. * Keeps up-to-date on insurance industry and government payer requirements. * Lead, oversee, and manage team performance and productivity to ensure fulfillment of service-level agreement obligations and achieve pre-defined productivity goals/targets. * Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly department metrics review to complete account management, identify issues and investigate root causes, escalate risks, and execute solutions/process improvements (Key performance indicators for review include, but are not limited to, A/R days, denial rates, follow-up work-in-process, etc.). Assuring all work is completed timely and accurately per department metrics and satisfactory outcomes are achieved. * Identify payer trends and issues and promptly escalate to insurance provider representatives and contracting. * Complete staff scheduling and coordination based on volume/timing coverage needs. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $38.91 - $65.06/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
