Assembler I

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Third Shift (9:30PM - 6:00AM) Assembler I based in Indianapolis, IN. The Assembler I is responsible for performing assembly and packaging tasks required in the manufacturing process.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $16/hr. - $18/hr. plus $.75/hr. shift differential. Mandatory overtime may be required as needed. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform a variety of basic production and assembly processes by following assembly work instructions
• Operate various production assembly machines including hand tools to assemble products
• Visually inspect parts to quality standards and communicate any problems to the supervisor/lead person
• Pack finished product as set forth by work instruction, including instructional sheets and any necessary hardware
• Cross-train and rotate on a frequent basis

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• General assembly skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Use hands and fingers for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. as well as for fine manipulation such as touching, picking, and pinching
• Communicate effectively by speaking and listening; use close/distance/color/peripheral vision, including using depth perception and adjusting focus
• Remain active throughout shift by standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting/moving items up to 40 pounds
