The Role:
The Software Products
Delivery Lead oversees the R&D of new software as well as the ongoing Operations
(Support and Maintenance) of existing, deployed SaaS in use by our
clients. This key role on our small, highly
collaborative leadership team brings expertise and experience in creating and
managing complex, vital, and highly integrated SaaS solutions. The Software
Products Delivery Lead manages the functional leaders who manage all R&D
and Operations projects and personnel. This
role is responsible for ensuring the profitability of the Delivery teams, executing
high quality software projects on time and within budget, managing product
teams and resources, fostering teamwork, and creating an environment that enables
reliable outcomes and significant growth.
The Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:
Product Delivery & Execution:
- Overseeing the R&D team to ensure development processes align with defined requirements, provide accurate estimates, and deliver high-quality code on time, while adhering to software best practices and industry standards.
- Overseeing the Support & Maintenance team to deliver outstanding customer service, efficiently resolve issues, and proactively maintain and update software to ensure security, modernization, and seamless operation.
- Responsible for managing scope, delivery, resources, and financials, and ensuring alignment between the product priorities/roadmaps and the product engineering delivery plans.
- Collaborating closely with the Product Strategy and Sales Lead to understand client requirements, ensuring that client-facing deliverables align with R&D budgets and timelines.
- Partnering with the VP of Engineering to align engineering best practices and standards with project execution, while overseeing the operations of core product support and maintenance to ensure seamless performance and continuous improvement.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution, handling any roadblocks or resource challenges as they arise.
- Juggling the pipeline of new build projects against continued operations and understanding business dynamics to make informed resourcing decisions.
- Providing clear, transparent, and regular reporting on project budgets, timelines, and resource utilization.
Process Improvement & Innovation:
- Creating and adhering to an effective delivery process, continually improving processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintaining a high standard of quality in project deliverables including implementing and monitoring quality assurance processes to ensure that all work meets or exceeds client expectations.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Managing expectations across business, technical, and leadership teams to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
- Building strong relationships with teams and stakeholders to enable effective communication.
- Oversight of delivery teams including recruiting, developing, and coaching team members.
- Fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback to help team members excel in their roles.
- Participating in other activities that contribute to organizational objectives.
Requirements:
- Experience with client-driven full systems development lifecycle concepts.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Track record of growing and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to express oneself clearly in both verbal and written communication to technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders.
- Passionate about customer service, producing high-quality deliverables, and follow-through.
- Attention to detail, determined, and solution-oriented.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software delivery or project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Ability to travel to internal and semi-annual firm meetings and occasional client travel.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000
This job is 100% REMOTE, or can be based in our Bethesda, MD, headquarters or New York office.
The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, and face-to-face.
