Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding premiums, billing discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records of customer accounts within the insurance agency. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of insurance billing procedures.

Job Duties

  • Generate accurate and timely invoices for fees and other charges.
  • Ensure that all invoices comply with agency requirements.
  • Manage the billing cycle, including sending out statements and monitoring due dates.
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts and overdue invoices through calls, emails, and written communication.
  • Work with clients to resolve payment issues or discrepancies.
  • Reconcile customer accounts regularly, ensuring all payments, credits, and adjustments are accurately posted.
  • Identify and resolve any billing or payment discrepancies.
  • Generate and review reports related to accounts receivable, including aging reports and payment histories.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries related to billing, payment issues, and account balances.
  • Offer resolution for disputes and work collaboratively with clients to find acceptable solutions.
  • Stay informed about the agency's insurance products, coverage options, and billing processes to provide accurate and reliable information to clients.
  • Understand and apply insurance regulations, policies and procedures related to premium payments.
  • Will be responsible for servicing of assigned accounts, including changes to policies, renewals, claims, endorsements, billing issues, quoting and general account questions and maintenance.
  • Assist with new account set up
  • Maintain insured client's files in the Agency Management System.
  • Review activities and meet timeline workflow standards.
  • Review policy expiration and cancellation reports.
  • Assist in retention of clients
  • Assist with preparation of presentations.
  • Will respond to customer inquires.
  • Will act as back up to other department functions.
  • Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in accounts receivable or a similar accounting role preferred
  • Insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Must be prompt, efficient, accurate, and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and customer service experience are also required.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
