Digital Press Operator and Creative Designer

Job DescriptionProduces a variety of types of final print products including (but not limited to) a registry of images, multiple print pages to be cut from paper for books and booklets, printing envelopes, printing on both sides of the paper simultaneously, printing business cards, posters, flyers, brochures, banners, and prepare/edits mailing lists for bulk mail outs including the modification of layouts that reflect the quality standards of Creative Services and TSTC.

Hiring Range is $36,545 to $39,286.62

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Essential Functions:

  • Core Values: Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.

  • Receives work assignments through a project management system (WorkZone) and prioritizes projects to ensure completion by or before deadlines.

  • Provides documentation and information necessary for any reporting purposes. Notes to WorkZone, message, and verbal updates.

  • Respond to client messages and emails in a timely, professional manner.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and makes minor repairs to equipment during and after production runs. Detects and calls attention to problems with equipment operation and product quality. Request service calls when necessary.

  • Goes through the approval process and if needed makes necessary edits/changes/corrections before preparing the final layout for print.

  • Illustrate concept by designing a rough layout of art copy regarding arrangement, size, type style, and related aesthetic concepts

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent, Associate Degree preferred

KSA's:

  • 2 years experience in a digital printing production environment.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, InDesign, MS Word, and MS Excel.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Digital Presses and large wide-format printers plus the ability to guide, instruct, and coordinate the efforts of other workers engaged in these operations.

  • Experience in graphic design, marketing, advertising, or related field.

  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Google Suite knowledge (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc...)

  • The ability to operate print shop equipment including but not limited to bindery equipment, vinyl heat press, paper cutters, t-shirt printers, laser engravers, flatbed printers, and folding machines.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Digital Presses and large wide-format printers.
