The Position

This position coordinates, develops and updates the content and design of the College's website to ensure it remains current, cohesive and visually appealing while focusing on increasing its online marketing presence and advance college initiatives. This position proofreads and edits content, creates high quality visuals and ensures the resulting materials integrate across web channels, mobile devices, HTML, email and flat screen TVs. This position uses creative content and innovative strategies on web and email channels to engage multiple stakeholders.

What You Will Do

1. Coordinates, develops and updates the content and design of the College's website to ensure it remains current, cohesive and visually appealing while focusing on increasing the website's online marketing presence, engaging multiple stakeholders and advancing college initiatives.
2. Proofreads and edits content to maximize clarity and results, creates high quality visuals and ensures the resulting marketing materials integrate across web channels, mobile devices, HTML, email and flat screen TVs.
3. Actively contributes to innovative strategies and provides creative ideas that continually improve web and email channels, yield successful email campaigns and support web based initiatives.
4. Supports WordPress Editors by helping to expand the effectiveness of the content management system and providing assistance with training efforts.
5. Converts College marketing materials into HTML format for the website and email initiatives.
6. Reviews website copyright, ADA, CAN-SPAM and related legislature to ensure the content of the website is compliant with current regulations, college policies and procedures.
7. Evaluates website placement on all major search engines and directories; adjusts web presences to increase placement, traffic and conversions.
8. Tracks email metrics such as conversion, open rate, click-through rate, and unsubscribe rate to improve and maximize results; prepares related reports as necessary.
9. Remains current on marketing trends, web and social media platforms, and other related technology as it evolves.
10. Related duties and initiatives as assigned.


The Successful Candidate Must Have

1. Bachelor's Degree in a related field highly desirable, however an Associate's Degree and certification in web development/design or an Associate's Degree and an additional two years of related experience (total of 5 years) may be substituted in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree.

2. Three years of directly related experience in a role that required the development of digital communications and/or marketing content, website imaging and familiarity with web development/design, HTML, and the use of a content management system (such as WordPress).

3. Understanding of ADA compliance, copyright and CAN-SPAM legislation and compliance requirements.

4. Prior experience with or knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.

5. One year of project leadership experience with accountability for individual and/or team results.

6. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) that involved the editing and development of professional marketing content, emails, and reports.


Even Better If You Have

1. One or more years of experience with online marketing strategies and marketing channels.

2. Certification in web development/design.
