Adult Clinical Program Coordinators are a hybrid of clinical interventions and milieu management interventions.

Position Summary: Responsible for providing clinical services in the form of planning, individual sessions, groups, and assessments in collaboration with the Program Director.Provide program assessment and initiate efforts for program development, as indicated by the Director of Clinical Services. Provides clinical services in the form of carrying a small caseload of patients, families, and groups, while maintaining ongoing adherence to the treatment team's direction of patient care and clinical oversight from a licensed therapist (if not licensed).Responsible for interviewing and developing the psychological history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives and monthly treatment summaries, as well as facilitating psychoeducational and process groups. Provide general assistance with oversight of daily milieu related needs and activities and work with the Program Manager/Program Director related to programming changes or improvements. Assists MHT's in execution of daily tasks, and may participate in MHT staff development and training as indicated by Director of Clinical Services.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assists and monitors residents. Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude with residents, families, employees, and management.
  • Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community, and group meetings.
  • Acts as residents advocate ensuring that the resident rights, as well as confidentiality, are maintained.
  • Has a basic understanding of Common Psychiatric Diagnoses. Can recognize behaviors associated with and uses proper intervention techniques for Common Psychiatric Diagnoses
  • Demonstrates a high level of clinical skill in assessing the clinical needs of the resident, determining appropriate group interventions and in conducting the psychoeducation group in accordance with these needs.
  • Establishes rapport, systematically gathers data; determines client's readiness for treatment and change..
  • Documentation as required by facility Policy

Qualifications

Job Requirments:

  • Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling, or related fields
  • Registered Intern with the state of Florida (counseling)
  • Preferred Experience: One year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with children and/or adolescents
  • Skills:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of clinical skills to assess for stabilization, risk factors, and verbal de-escalation.
