Job Summary

Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking two full-time Student Services Specialists who provide essential services to new and continuing students, community members, and guests over the phone, online, and in-person. The position's primary areas of support are located in Admissions & Records Office with ancillary support to the Welcome Center. The Student Services Specialists will focus on student enrollment and success, as well as, a high touch customer service in the modalities of financial aid, academic advising, cashiering services, community education, and referrals to other campus-related services. To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.

Essential Functions

55% Assists new and continuing students in all student services inquiries and processes related to Admissions, Registration, & Records, in order to support college enrollment and retention. Assist community members with community education and referrals to other campus-related services. Provide information regarding program guidelines and applicable laws, policies, rules and regulations, primarily for PVCC's Welcome Center.

40% Support the day-to-day functions connected with intake in Admissions and Records which may include: intake and processing of Admissions related documents; transcript intake and evaluation; and graduation tracking and evaluation.

5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, customer service, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

1. Two (2) or more years' experience, or part-time equivalency, working in admissions and records, cashiers, financial aid, academic advising, and/or welcome center in a college/university setting
2. Two (2) or more years' experience in a front-facing customer service area
3. Experience with student services database systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, or any database or system used to support students)
4. Experience assisting with student service programs to improve, expand, and support student enrollment
5. Experience with Microsoft and Google Suites and/or other software which may be used to support students
6. Bilingual (all languages welcome)
