Sr Java Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Developer with 3 to 6 years of experience in Advanced Java and a strong background in the Education domain. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model primarily during the day shift. This role requires proficiency in English for reading and writing. The candidate will contribute to developing and enhancing our educational software solutions ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain advanced Java applications for the education domain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality organization and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
• Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.
• Document development processes code changes and other technical information.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience in Advanced Java.
• Must have experience in the Education domain.
• Should have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Should be proficient in English for reading and writing.
• Should have a good understanding of software development life cycle.
• Should be able to work in a hybrid model.
• Should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Should have strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Should be familiar with version control systems like Git.
• Should have experience with Agile methodologies.
• Should have a good understanding of database management systems.
• Should have experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
• Should have excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Certifications Required

Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 11 Developer

The annual salary for this position is between $60K - $110K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
