What You Will Do in This Role:
- Commission complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
- Recommend ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement relating to customer satisfaction and business processes.
- Lead Software and Emulation phase with large team while following company processes and standards.
- Support the design, commissioning, testing, and modification of recently installed logistics systems using software tools such as ACADE, Maestro, iView, and PMC.
- Analyze and review engineering designs and documentation to ensure compliance with project design criteria and technical standards with respect to operating parameters, product throughput, and safety. Identify, implement, and execute software and hardware tests and trials to assess proper functioning of equipment, equipment subsystems, and functional subsystems in terms of warehouse control systems software.
- Analyze test results, identify problems, and implement solutions to resolve operational, engineering, and software configuration issues.
- Develop and implement corrective modification of software systems, including optimizing and software system configurations and making necessary adjustments to ensure functionality.
- Design electrical systems, integrate them, and program the software of these elements.
- Monitor and manage project/team performance and ensure KPIs are met. Coordinate with line manager about performance, skill set, and availability of project engineering resources.
- Participate in discussions with Project Management, Customers, and third-party companies to ensure the success of Dematic Projects.
What We Are Looking For:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering or closely related field and 8 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer, Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer or closely related occupation.
- Also requires 3 years of experience with testing and commissioning electrical and software aspects of conveyor and sortation systems using NEC, NFPA and UL electrical codes; Auto CAD Electrical for schematic drawings; Allen Bradley PLC/HMI Software: RSLogix 5000; Factory Talk; Ethernet TCP/IP; Maestro; Modbus; motor controls, tuning VFD's, performing FLA calculations for size motors and transformers, and technical writing for operational descriptions; testing E-Stop and safety relay circuits; troubleshooting electrical control systems related to power distribution and material handling equipment; using and calibrating photo-eyes, scanners, and barcode readers; performing compliance checks on other engineer's documents and schematic drawings; and planning, specification, and implementation of engineering design projects.
