Protective Life is seeking a skilled and proactive Legal Analyst to join our Asset Protection Legal Team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing litigation under the direction of counsel, conducting legal research, and preparing documents for various business transactions. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations, supporting acquisition integration, and maintaining legal documents for insurance filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, compliance, and legal research, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Litigation management. Under the direction of counsel, investigate and resolve non-material APD litigation and threatened litigation. Assist in preparing case files, evaluate and review legal documents and ensure all legal deadlines are met. Communicate the company's position to consumers and their counsel. Provide support to in-house and outside counsel for material litigation involving APD.
* Manage and perform special projects assigned including legal research and document preparation for acquisition integration and other business transactions.
* Research state laws and regulations; write memoranda, as required, to in-house attorneys on the applicability or effect of such laws and regulations.
* Complete legal documents and renewal applications in connection with insurance annual statement filings. Maintain and renew fictitious name registrations for APD legal entities.
* Other job duties and projects as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in pre-law, legal studies, or Paralegal degree
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in litigation, compliance, regulatory and/or legislative matters, legal research and writing. Prior experience in insurance or service contract/GAP industry preferred.
* Ability to interpret legal/court documents for disposition
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Excellent legal research skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work and coordinate effectively with others
* Outstanding organizational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Product Suite

Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $68,500 to $100,500. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
