Video: What We Do

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CAD Designer/Modeler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design and modeling, with proficiency in Siemens NX and other relevant software. This role involves collaborating with various departments to design, develop, and maintain tools, machines, and equipment to meet project specifications and Chromalloy standards.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Studies and reviews assigned projects and investigates questionable items concerning machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Makes design layouts involving stress analysis, metallurgical characteristics, and mechanics.
  • Generates product CAD Models with Siemens NX to meet specifications.
  • Recommends redesign, repair or rebuilding to overcome difficulties or meet requirements.
  • Prepares bills of material, specification sheets, sketches, and any other technical work necessary to complete tool designs and assignments.
  • Collaborate with other designers, drafters, engineers, and representatives of other departments on matters involving design, material, and construction of tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Prep, program, operate, and maintain 3D printers, CNC's, measurement, post-processing, and test equipment to output the tool, part, and/or component to the exact specifications of project requirements and/or staff needs
  • Process additive manufacturing/tooling design requests including reviewing files, validate printability, notification of exceptions, and the establishment and communication of printing schedules.
  • Develop basic CAD model creation skills to fulfill design requests and modification to create both additive 3D printed parts.
  • Makes mathematical computations and calculations. Ensures accuracy and functional correctness of tools and equipment.
  • Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence concerning tool design, machine functions and miscellaneous assignments.



Education & Experience:



  • Technical Diploma is preferred with 5 years' of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Additive 3D printing, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, etc. and ability to read CAD drawings or assemblies.
  • Understanding of mold manufacturing processes including CNC machining, wire EDM, and grinding.
  • Understanding of injection molding processes and materials is necessary to design molds that will produce high-quality products
  • Experience in the design of turbine/airfoil molds, dies, and fixtures is strongly preferred.
  • Experience or familiar with scanning/reverse engineering software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with strong team collaboration skills.
