Compensation for this role is $22.85 per hour plus weekend shift differential of $1.75
Hours: Fri-Sun 5am-6:30pm

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

General



  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to uphold food safety and product integrity.
  • Consistently follow safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities, languages, or perspectives.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.



Leadership



  • Lead the pack-off team by fostering a positive, collaborative work environment that reflects E.A. Sween's values.
  • Ensure team adherence to standard work procedures 100% of the time; provide coaching to elevate performance.
  • Create a fair, safe, and supportive work environment for all team members.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Production Supervisors to coach, discipline, and document team performance as needed.
  • Manage employee orientation, on-the-job training, and compliance with standard work, safety, GMPs, and paperwork completion.
  • Communicate daily with the Support Supervisor and Production Supervisor about any team issues or concerns.
  • Maintain personal attendance and monitor team attendance, reinforcing the Production Attendance Points Policy.



Food Safety and Quality



  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, supporting SQF 2000, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Adhere to and enforce all GMPs, standard work, and safety practices; report non-compliance to supervisors.
  • Maintain high standards in food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.


Safety and Health



  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Consistently wear and ensure team members wear required safety gear (e.g., hard hats, gloves).
  • Complete mandatory E.A. Sween quarterly safety training in alignment with OSHA and company policies.
  • Maintain a zero-incident safety record for team members.


Production



  • Oversee product specifications, packaging, coding, and employee rotation schedules.
  • Ensure accurate product counts and timely submission of completed paperwork within 30 minutes of work order completion.
  • Ensure strict adherence to metal detector processes and maintain a 30-minute rotation schedule for team positions.
  • Spend 95% of the workday on the pack-off floor, ensuring 100% fill rates.
  • Communicate regularly with RTE personnel on downtime, changeovers, product issues, and other updates.
  • Monitor product labels for correct price and date codes, updating as needed.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to meet production requirements and crew standards.
  • Perform metal detector tests and line changes as needed in the absence of the Pack-off Lead.


Cost (Continuous Improvement)



  • Collaborate with production employees, line controllers, leads, supervisors, and technicians to deliver a cost-effective, high-quality product.
  • Suggest and support additional training to drive process improvements and Lean initiatives.

What You'll Need (Qualifications)

Required



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Previous experience with high-speed assembly line packaging.
  • Ability to operate a weight scale and adhere to QA/QC policies and procedures.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs continuously.



Preferred



  • Previous lead or supervisory experience.



Physical Demands/Work Environment



  • Able to bend, turn, push, and pull continuously.
  • Continuously working in cool conditions (45 degrees).
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs. continuously.
  • Capable of reaching overhead continuously.
  • Able to stand for most of the day continuously.
  • Able to maintain required manufacturing speeds continuously.
  • Continuously performing repetitive tasks.
  • Flexible in rotating across all production positions and lines.
