POSITION SUMMARY: Works well independently and as an innovative team player to meet deadlines. Maintain quality processes and records to improve Total Quality by maintaining quality improvement programs, performing internal process audits, inspecting parts and assemblies, conducting product verification tests utilizing conventional inspection and measurement equipment, creating periodic quality reports supporting quality, engineering and manufacturing team members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Selects products for test at specified stages and performs product and process audits as requested for conformance to Standard Operating Procedures and manufacturing specifications.
- Test products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, visual and mechanical characteristics.
- Uses inspection procedures and working knowledge of inspection techniques to inspect parts to blueprints, procedures and specifications in manufacturing, receiving and inspection areas.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Recommends disposition of questionable parts to supervisor.
- Sets up and performs destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, or material characteristics.
- Create and maintain all standardized work for Poke Yoke stations for appropriate cells.
- Complete daily routine sheet.
- Enter scrap into SAP for the day prior to the end of the shift.
- Assist in development and control of inspection procedures, documentation and quality documents as directed.
- Train production personnel in quality system requirements and assist in QM Certification Program.
- Writes detailed inspection reports in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures on parts, products and processes that pass or fail inspection: investigates failures and submits detailed reports of findings to quality engineering for disposition.
- Follows all environmental, health, safety and quality procedures, rules, and policies.
- Maintain gage calibration system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Associate's Degree in related field
- Basic knowledge of GD&T, blue Weld Acceptance Criteria and Repair Methodsprint reading, and auditing.
- Knowledge of GMW14058 Weld Acceptance Criteria and Repair Methods.
- Preferred candidate would have passed Tenneco Certified Weld Examine.
- Experience with calipers, scales, height gages, etc.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel.
- Must have strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work different shifts and overtime.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to read/write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
