ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Quality Manager for Home Storage, you will be an integral member of the Bay City leadership team. While partnering closely with business leaders and associates, you will drive a strategic agenda to enable the production team to meet their goals and objectives, while ensuring Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance. You will do so by building tremendous partnerships to support Business/Plant initiatives relating to quality activities. This will be achieved with a continuous improvement mindset while leading the quality pillar that meets supply chain and global quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To plan, implement, manage and participate in BC Product Quality

    • Participate in Developing and Improving the BC Quality System

    • Meeting quality goals and objectives of the plant/site

    • Developing and improving quality systems

  • Lead the Site Quality Pillar

    • Instill the TMP and Pillar Philosophy as it relates to Quality Losses.

    • Sponsor/lead loss teams.

    • Champion all means of addressing Quality Losses.

    • Develop Pillar membership to build capability to address losses.

  • Provide plant support during Kosher compliance audits/customer audits

  • Development and Execution of Strategic Quality Plan for Bay City

    • Assure product Safety and Regulatory Compliance

    • Compliance with Global Product Supply and NAPS Quality Assurance requirements

    • Support NAPS/Business/Plant initiatives relating to quality activities

  • Provide technical expertise and resources to assist plants and customers with identified Quality Issues.

  • Support plants on Statistical Process Control, Process Capability and Quality Methods.

  • Provide resources and technical expertise for business Objectives (i.e. new resins, new products, etc.)

  • Qualification of products and processes.

  • Reduction of Consumer complaints through analysis of CRC data to determine unfavorable trends and provide support to develop projects/plans to remedy identified issues.

  • Support to RD&E and Manufacturing in evaluating the use of new components or materials.

  • Ensure plant compliance to Corporate, Home Storage and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Prioritization of Quality Resources to support Strategic Quality Plans and Business Goals.

  • Develop, Publish, Implement and Maintain quality procedures and methods.

  • Manage the activities, practices, and procedures employed by his/her team to ensure successful product launches.

  • Make timely decisions concerning nonconforming products and processes to ensure that the Home Storage meets its safety, quality and business objectives.

  • Promote the application of quality engineering and preventative techniques such as statistically designed experiments throughout Bay City.

  • Manage the Independent Quality Audit function for all Home Storage and Contract Manufacturing Plants. Select, develop, and motivate technical staff to provide the base for efficient and effective quality operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree Engineering or related technical field

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or related field

  • +2 years of experience in lean methodology and Quality Pillar development and implementation

PREFERRED EXPEREINCES AND SKILLS:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer strongly preferred

  • 2+ years of managerial experience strongly preferred

  • Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full time

  • Up to 15% travel

  • This role is eligible for domestic or international relocation

  • Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees
